Foster a Pet
Want to save a life? Each pet that goes to a foster home makes room at SAFE’s shelter so an additional pet facing euthanasia can be saved. Fosters are also needed for puppies or kittens who need a quiet place. When fostering a pet, there is no commitment to length of time. You can choose a pet you would like to foster, however, we typically send our long-term pets to give them a break from the shelter.

Volunteer
SAFE could not afford to hire the number of people needed to handle all the work, so our volunteers truly make the difference between life and death.
Due to insurance requirements, we can no longer take new volunteers to work with the animals, but volunteers are needed at the resale store and to help with repairs.

Transport
Have a clean driver’s license and enjoy driving? Help transport pets, locally or our northeastern rescue partners in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Donate
Monetary donations are always needed to cover the cost of veterinary bills and animal care and supplies.
Gently-used items can be donated to our resale store.
We are always in need of Bleach, Fabuloso, trash bags, dish and laundry soap, antibacterial wipes, and hand sanitizer.

Career Opportunities
Want a career change? We are always looking for pet loving people to join our team!
